Banned Books, and Why Parents Take Books From Their Children and/or How They Should Do It

I feel like I just need to say this.

In Tea Time, we talked about banned books, and I saw a lot of tweets from people getting upset about parents wanting shelter their children from reading a book because of the content.

That is totally ok.

What is NOT ok, is taking the book, or requesting it to be banned (because than other kids can't read it, and they might enjoy it, and it might help them in some way), and telling their child you can't read it just because. They can't read it because...give reasons. Give reasons to your children WHY. It makes them feel like they're important, and you love them. This is speaking from a child's point of view.

My mom is the most amazing mom in the world, and yes, I've gotten upset at her for taking books from me, or telling me I can't watch something. But it's for the better, and us kids just need to understand this. She also gave me reasons, and good reasons they were.

I'm not allowed to read Harry Potter, or Twilight.

I wasn't allowed to read The Hunger Games for the longest time, but now, I'm allowed, and I'm glad I waited.

Maybe someday, I'll be allowed to read Harry Potter, and Twilight. When I'm eighteen, and I move out of the house, I can read whatever I want, but for now, my mom makes sure that I'm save, and 'sheltered' as much as she can.

My Doctor Who Pumpkin!

For all of you who didn't know, I LOVE Halloween. It's my favorite holiday next to Christmas and Thanksgiving. I love all the candy, and dressing up like a character that's not you, and just having fun! Even though I'm not really supposed to be going Trick or Treating, I'm going to try to do it anyway.

So....I love pumpkins, and the other day, I got a tiny pumpkin, and I decorated it as the Ninth, Tenth and Eleventh Doctor's outfits and special saying.

Writing, writing, writing...

Happy Tuesday, readers! We made it through Monday!

This week I'm focusing on getting The Storm #3 written! It is very close to the end as I write this, and you read this. It will surpass The Hurricane (The Storm Saga #2) mostly, having that book be 75k, this one is very close to 75k and so much more to write!

I have been thinking of the ending to this book for months now, and I am so excited to finally write it!

After I finish writing it, I will be editing The Hurricane, and I'll start Teaser Tuesdays probably by the end of this month, or early October! Then it's time for NaNo! And I already have the story in my head ready to go! It should be completely outlined in my head by November. XD

What are you all reading this week? I'm writing THROUGH THE EVER NIGHT by Veronica Rossi! Also, I started watching Sherlock Season 1 last night. I'm going to be quickly converted to Wholocked every soon...I love a good mystery! And Sherlock's voice is so dreamy...

Why, hello there

So...this was my first week of school. If you were following my tweets on Twitter, you would have seen all my tweets about it...I think it's going to be a very busy year. More classes everyday, and may or may not consist of time to actually do the school work...so we'll see.

Starting most likely Saturday, I will start looking at Two Rings #4, and maybe The Hurricane. And start thinking about editing. (eep) both of these books will come out 2014 for sure. And as you all know, I'm working on The Storm #3 as you read this. Which I am very excited to share with all of you.

In a few months, I'll start looking at Very Long WIP, and see if I can edit through it. :D

I hope you all have a great 3 (one day left) weekend! I am recovering for a long first week of school...I need more sleep.
