Happy Teaser Tuesday everyone! It's the last day of Janurary! Gosh, that month went fast!

No character today, but I do have a teaser, I think you might like. :)

“The Undimmed. Just wait. And be…safe.” He opened the door once more. “I love you, Pearl. Always will. Be safe.” And he left. Again.

I'm working really hard to get this book edited by Feb. 5th. I know I can do it. Wish me luck!

'love scenes' part 1

I decided, since Valentines Day is coming up. I thought I would post a 'love scene' every Friday until the 14th. And on the 14th I might...might....post a big one. ;)

Here's the first one!

1.

Those dark chocolate eyes looked into my jade ones. It was one of those moments where, you could have sworn the other person heard you heart beat and you couldn't breath.

Can anyone guess who she is talking about?

my imagination went A-WALL

Hey everyone!

Long time no see! Well, I am taking a break from writing for a bit. That doesn't mean the internet though. Just writing in general. That also includes editing.
Why you ask? Well, my imagination went away for almost an ENTIRE DAY. It was awful!!! Awful!! I couldn't come up with a good story almost the entire day. So, I went back to where it all started. :)

You guys know High School Musical right? Well, those songs, and Camp Rock songs, helped me create my new stories. Without those, I might have some pretty different stories now. So, I've been listening to HSM a lot. Even watched a movie, and my imagination is slowly coming back. :)

Also, you guys know Catherine and Jashub right? Well, since Valentine's Day is coming up, I thought I would write a little bit about them for Vday. What do you think? Also, some of it might be in Jashub's point of view. What do you think???

Well, I hope you guys have an AMAZING weekend. I hope I do. <3

Love you guys!

Teaser Tuesday! 1/24/12

Hey everyone!! On Saturday, I posted a new character/actor from my book! I did Adskhan Carter. (ad-skan).

I chose the actor David Herine. He looks like he could totally pull of the Adskhan look. He just needs brown hair and make it curly.
Here's the example from the book: Adskhan had short shaggy brown hair, so curly, you could get your fingers tangled in it. And brown eyes dark as chocolate that would make you drool.

Also, here's the line Adskhan:

“Can’t do that, Pearl. You see, I’m your leader, and you just broke quite a few rules.”

I swallowed.

“Also, you’re going to be mine someday—"

“I’ll never be yours!” I stormed.

Enjoy the rest of your week! <3

Review: WATERFALL by Lisa T. Bergen

This is the 2nd book I've read this year.

What do you do when your knight in shining armor lives, literally, in a different world?

Most American teenagers want a vacation in Italy, but the Betarrini sisters have spent every summer of their lives among the romantic hills with their archaelogist parents. Stuck among the rubble of the medieval castles in rural Tuscany, on yet another hot, dusty archaeological site, Gabi and Lia are bored out of their minds...until Gabi places her hand atop a handprint in an ancient tomb and finds herself in fourteenth-century Italy. And worse yet, in the middle of a fierce battle between knights of two opposing forces.

Suddenly Gabi's summer in Italy is much, much more interesting.

Christian beliefs: Lots of praying. In medieval times, people BELIEVED in God. So there was praying. And I loved it. You don't get a good YA Christian book that often. I was so excited that it was! :)

Language: None. Not lying. None. Not even the LORD's name in vain ONCE. *does happy dance*

Romance: Kissing. But not a lot. Just...sweet kissing. (the best kind in my opinion) and guys who actually RESPECT girls. Knights in Shining Armor are the best kind. Just saying. But of course, they're are parts where BAD Knights in Armor do BAD things. But they NEVER do them. It's just referenced. But seriously, the romance was just enough.

Violence: Swords, bow and arrows, axes. All that good war stuff you would see in Narnia movies. They do describe the fight seances, but not in too much detail, that your stomach churns and you might puke. But you know someone is very, very hurt. And people do get hurt, and since it's 1332, there are no pain meds, so taking stitches out for instance, is realllllly painful. And if your poisoned, well, you probably aren't going to live. And someone is thrented with someone getting tortured.

Any Other bad things: Just, Gabi thinks that this one guy might do something...not that good. Very ungentlemanly. I barely understood it myself, which means, it's so hidden, that you don't even have to worry about it, if you didn't know about it before. And this one guy says: "No, I have enough women to warm my bed." so that's about it.

Comments: I was SO excited to find out that this book was Christian! They're are seriously NO Christian YA books out there! I was so happy! It was sooooo good to read a book without reading a swear word every single sentence. I mean seriously, not every teen out there swears! And it's back in 1332, so of course those words aren't even invented  yet! They're weren't even any 'old' bad words. It was awesome!! Also, the guys, I mean, they were nice, and very gentlemanly. They actually GOT UP when a girl got up. I mean, that is awesome!!! Guys don't do that anymore. But seriously, it was awesome. And did I mention they were cute too? Gosh, you don't find guys like that much anymore. And when you do, it's awesome!! They are awesome friends. And future boyfriends. (I can't date until 18. That's why I said FUTURE.) Also, I think that some people don't think that Christians can have fun. Like, have crushes, and stuff like that. I mean, we're human too! And this book totally proves that wrong. We all have crushes at one point of our lives. It's natural.
All in all, I loved this book. Enough said.

Christian song plus Spiderman? Oh, you gotta see this!

Hey everyone! I was at my youth group last night, and my youth pastor was playing this video. I LOVE this song. And then, I noticed Spiderman was in it! I was like. "NO WAY!" I mean, how can this get any better?
Now, I just want to sit down, and do a Spiderman movie marathon. I'm really weird...yes. (it's a short-term faze, read about "fazes" here: "Fazes" what are they?)

Here's the video! Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Michelle Madow!

It's Michelle Madow's birthday today! She was the author who wrote REMEMBRANCE. You can read my review here: Review: REMEMBRANCE by Michel Madow.

Well, since it's Michelle's birthday. I just so happened to be listening to Taylor Swift songs, and most of them remind me of scenes from REMEMBRANCE. :)

Check out the song that started it all!!

Go visit Michelle's blog so you can learn more about REMEMBRANCE! And up top, you can click on the pic and sign up to help, Michelle tell Taylor Swift about REMEMBRANCE! :))
And in honor of her birthday, if you buy a copy of REMEMBRANCE (ebook or paper back, or hardcover) and give her proof, you get a jumbo signed bookmark! :)

Michelle is like one of my favorite authors! She's a self published author, and she writes good clean books, with great plots! :)

Happy Birthday, Michelle!

Teaser Tuesday! 1/17/2012

Well, I got back from the Winter Retreat over the weekend, and I put the next actor/actress on Facebook yesterday, and it's also the teaser for today! (plus a line that they say...)

Calum Worthy looks like Max in SHADOW FUTURE!

(isn't he cute too? hehe ;))

Line: ""He didn't say anything, he just leaned over the seat more, and looked me up and down. But it didn’t bother me, like it should have. “You’re really quiet, sweetheart. You shy? Don’t be. I won’t bite.”

I didn’t know what this boy was doing. But I didn't like it. At least, I told myself I didn't…""

You guys getting excited?? I am!! (I still have a lot of editing to do though...uck. But it's worth it!)

Review: REMEMBRANCE by Michelle Madow

This is the first book I've read this year.

New Hampshire high school junior Lizzie Davenport has been reincarnated from Regency Era, England ... but she doesn't know it yet.

Then Drew Carmichael transfers into Lizzie's school at the beginning of the year, and she feels a connection to him, almost like she knows him. She can't stop thinking about him, but whenever she tries talking with him about the mysteries behind her feelings, he makes it clear that he wants nothing to do with her. Reaching him is even more difficult because she has a boyfriend, Jeremy, who has started to become full of himself after being elected co-captain of the varsity soccer team, and her flirtatious best friend Chelsea starts dating Drew soon after his arrival. So why can't she seem to get him out of her mind?

Even though Lizzie knows she should let go of her fascination with Drew, the pair of them soon find that fighting fate isn't going to be easy.

Language: I am so proud of Michelle! There was no language is the entire book. Finally, a book that has that!!! There was just, Oh my God I think once. But it was so clean. I loved it.

Romance: Well, Jeremy and Liz kiss a couple of times, one of them not as short as the others. And there is Jeremy getting very clingy. And some of other people kiss them. But it was so clean. Again, I proud of Michelle. And Jeremy is always saying that him and Lix need to hang out more, and all that.

Any other bad things: None, just that Jeremy grabs onto Lix, preventing her from going anywhere. And someone rescues you. (I won't say who, bc that is a spoiler!)

Comments: Oh my gosh. I LOVED this book. It was so clean, and I enjoyed every single minute of it. Michelle Madow made such a great story! And I loved how there weren't people sleeping with each other, or cussing out of the roof, like some other YA books. (I exaggerated a bit, but I was so happy!) And it was self-published, so you can really see that Michelle can actually write, and she didn't have fancy editors helping her. :)
Thank you Michelle for writing such a great book!!! I can't wait to read Vengeance next!

What actors/actresses look like characters from SHADOW FUTURE? Part 1

Hey everyone!! I'm going to put out at least one picture of what each actor or actresses looks most like my characters from SHADOW FUTURE.

So, for the first one, I thought I'd do the one for Pearl Underwood. You guys ready? Ok.

AnnaSophia Robb looks like a Pearl to me. With her smile, and her hair color. And she looks like she could be quiet, but outgoing and trying to get her way. (teaser fyi)

More to come soon!!

Questions about SHADOW FUTURE

Hey everyone!!

I got some questions about how you will be a chance to read SHADOW FUTURE when it comes out. Well....I only get 5 paper back copies of it. And I will be giving 3 of the 5 to libraries. And the others, I will keep. If your library has a good system, you can probably get a copy. :)
At the moment, I am praying about making it an ebook, so that everyone with a kindle or nook, or any other reading device, can read it. But I'm still working on that.

And if anyone wants to review it. I will be getting ONE ARC (or possibly more...).  And I'm thinking about letting some reviewers read it, but they will have to send it back. (still praying about that also, not sure about it yet.)

And those who have NO IDEA what I'm talking about, lol. My book SHADOW FUTURE is coming out April 11th 2012. You can read the summary here: summary.

I hope that answers all your guys' questions! If you have anymore, just ask. I love answering them. :) (you can look at the link list on my blog for ways to contact me.)

Hey everyone! Here's the teaser for this Tuesday!! As you know, I am in the process of editing. So as I went along, I found some awesome teasers. I posted this one on my Facebook page, but not everyone gets to see it when it's there. So, here it is!

"Fazes" What are they?

One of my friends asked me what a "Faze" was. (I had mentioned it in a post)

Well, a faze is when someone really likes something for a limited point of time. Example: I have been in a "Writing Faze" for a year and a half plus 7 days and counting...(and I hope don't stop) (I'm also in a Pirates of the Caribbean "fraze" been in one of those for awhile now...)

I went through a "Batman Faze" for 3 months. That was a big deal for me. I even had posters of ALL the cartoon characters up in my room.
I still like Batman, but not so much that I had posters and a blog. And took cheesy quizzes almost every day....
I also went through a "Star Wars Faze". I don't recall having a blog, but I knew I made a folder with pictures in them. I also went through a "SpiderMan Faze" where I had to watch all the movies over and over. (number 3 is my fave)

Sometimes, "fazes" are short lived. Like they're just "I have to do this NOW" things...Like once, I just HAD to watch this one Disney Movie. But the next day, I was completely over it.

As you can see, they're are all kinds of "fazes". They're not bad. As long as you don't rule them, like you make decisions by what your in a "faze" with. That's never happened to me though.

It might annoy your friends and family, you spitting out  facts and talking, and talking about what "faze" you're going through. But if you like it, it's ok. :)

Thought I'd write a post about this.

Love you guys!!

New book

Hey everyone!

I'm writing a new book. It's a dystopian/post-apocalyptic novel. Go read about what that means: Julie Kagawa does a good job of explaining it: http://juliekagawa.blogspot.com/2012/01/dystopian-vs-post-apocalyptic.html

Well, details soon! I am still editing SHADOW FUTURE. No fear!

A cool, but weird post

Hey everyone!

This post has like, nothing to do with writing, but I'd thought I'd tell you about my fish, Black Jack.

Black Jack died yesterday. :( he lived: Summer '11 - Winter '12.

He was a great fish. :) And I know some of you like be like, 'why does she care so much about a fish?" well, my fish are like the dogs I don't have.

Well, so, Black Jack is in Fish Heaven right now. But, when he died, I stuck him in the freezer with some water in a bag, and froze him. So when the future gets here, and they know how to freeze people and bring them back, he'll live again! (jk)

Here he is now: Han Solo Fish:

Lol, I'm sick, so I'm a bit loopy. :P

Well, that's the post. Ttyl!

Hey everyone!! Today I start school again. The good news? Only 19 weeks until school is over. ;)

Well, here's your teaser for today!

A lesson I've learned about guys: they like it when you laugh.

Anyway, Michelle Madow, author, is trying to raise money so she can go on tour this year!! Details are here: Remembrance Tour
Self publishing authors need all the help they can get! And all the prizes you can get if you give are awesome!! You can also do free things too. Like tweet about it, or do a blog post. :)

Plus, I have a website now! Well, I have two. madisonlousiesbooks.weebly.com is just my unpublished books now. madisonlouise.weebly.com is just about me. :) Hope you go check it out!

Have a nice day everyone!

It's a new year!

Hi!!

Happy New Year!! Hope you had a great 2011!! I know I did. :)

Did you enter the giveaway yet? Well, here's the link if you didn't: giveaway

Well, as you can see, SHADOW FUTURE had it's cover revel! Do you see the cover? ------->
I'm really happy how it came out. My friend is an AWESOME picture taker person. lol

Well, last year on New Years Day, I made a resolution to read 100 novels by the end of the year. I didn't make it, but I'm proud of myself for getting to 92 novels!! :)
My new resolution is....to finish all the series I started last year, and the year before that. Like, A Tale of Worlds, and the Hair Color Forces, and the Royal Pains and the Pirate Chronicles, and the Alters. :) And of course, the Shadow Future trilogy. :) (at least to #2 in the SF trilogy)
Also, I'm going to do my best NOT to start new series. Because then, I don't get the other books done. So Elament girl is postponed for now. Sorry about that guys. Those books were going to be only novella size anyway. So they'll be easy to write. So I'll get them done soon!

What are your new year resolutions?

I hope everyone's new year is fantastic! Now, I'm off to write! (or hope so anyway...)

I'm really cheesy, and I think this post needs something more, so here's the song: "Brand New Day" from Camp Rock 2! ;)

Happy New Year! God bless you!

-maddie

PS: This is my first blog post of 2012!!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!!!

To kick off this WONDERFUL year, here is the COVER REVEAL of SHADOW FUTURE!

I got the proof yesterday. So here's a picture of it too:

 Cover:

And my copy!! (no idea why it's sideways...sorry)

 Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd, a giveaway!!

I happened to get another copy of the Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa for Christmas, so....I'm giving it away!!!

Ash, former prince of the Winter Court, gave up everything. His title, his home, even his vow of loyalty. All for a girl… and all for nothing.

Unless he can earn a soul.

To cold, emotionless faery prince Ash, love was a weakness for mortals and fools. His own love had died a horrible death, killing any gentler feelings the Winter prince might have had. Or so he thought.

Then Meghan Chase—a half human, half fey slip of a girl— smashed through his barricades, binding him to her irrevocably with his oath to be her knight. And when all of Faery nearly fell to the Iron fey, she severed their bond to save his life. Meghan is now the Iron Queen, ruler of a realm where no Winter or Summer fey can survive.

With the (unwelcome) company of his archrival, Summer Court prankster Puck, and the infuriating cait sith Grimalkin, Ash begins a journey he is bound to see through to its end— a quest to find a way to honor his solemn vow to stand by Meghan’s side.

To survive in the Iron realm, Ash must have a soul and a mortal body. But the tests he must face to earn these things are impossible. At least, no one has ever passed to tell the tale.

And then Ash learns something that changes everything. A truth that turns reality upside down, challenges his darkest beliefs and shows him that, sometimes, it takes more than courage to make the ultimate sacrifice.

Alright, so, you guys just answer all the questions below: and you might win a copy of this AMAZING book!!
