Review: UNDER THE NEVER SKY by Veronica Rossi

This is the 12th book I've read this year. (well...really 13th, but I don't think the Box Car Children count. ;))

WORLDS KEPT THEM APART.

DESTINY BROUGHT THEM TOGETHER.

Aria has lived her whole life in the protected dome of Reverie. Her entire world confined to its spaces, she's never thought to dream of what lies beyond its doors. So when her mother goes missing, Aria knows her chances of surviving in the outer wasteland long enough to find her are slim.

Then Aria meets an outsider named Perry. He's searching for someone too. He's also wild - a savage - but might be her best hope at staying alive.

If they can survive, they are each other's best hope for finding answers.

Christian beliefs: none

Other Belief systems: Nope.

Violence: cannibals (no need to explain that), killing with arrows and knifes etc.

Romance: Perry does explain to Aria about becoming a women, bc she doesn't know. People kiss each other, (you can guess who. ;)) Two people DO sleep with each other, which I found very annoying. Why can't people just wait these days? But otherwise than that, the romance was pretty good. :)

Language: b---ard, but that was the worse of the words.

Comments: Gosh, this book was GOOD. At first, I stopped reading it, because I was getting a bit bored, but when I saw the trailer for it, (view it here: trailer) and I was like...I have to start reading it again.
I loved how original is was, I had never read a book with a plot like that before. I also found something similar to my plot, which made me excited because that might mean people who like UNDER THE NEVER SKY might like Shadow Future. :D
All in all, I really enjoyed this book. And if I was doing one words reviews, they would be: original, amazing, exciting.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars.

Happy Monday!

It's Monday again, folks.

I've had TWO great weeks so far. And I'm going for THREE. Who's with me?

And so far, it's started off great! I'm almost done writing SF2. And the Shadow Future trailer is MADE. I will be revealing as soon as we figure out to upload it to YouTube. (it was too big to send by email) I'm SUPER excited to see it.

Also, my Spring Break is NEXT week. But, everything I usually do is mostly canceled, so I do school, then the day is just relaxing from there for the most part. So when my real Spring Break comes, I'll have NO school, and plenty of time to write/edit with just things to do. (if that makes any sense...) it's going to great. haha

Well, I must go back to school! So then I can WRITE.

Ta ta!

A Random Post

Hey ya'll!

If you're a reviewer, and you want an e-ARC of Shadow Future, you can email me at madisonlouisesbooks@hotmail.com with a link to your blog, and I'll send you the link to the ARC! :D

Anyhoo, I gave my friend the proof of Shadow Future to read, but she told me what I could do better, and there were a lot of grammatical errors in it. So what did I do? Went home, posted on Facebook if anyone wanted to edit my book.

I got 3 people. And right now, they've split up the book, and they're editing as we speak. (or read...or type....) I'm super excited!! Also, after they're editing, I'm going to go in and add some more description. (my friend said it would be better with it.)

Also, Yamachookaa Photography is working on the book trailer for Shadow Future! I'm SUPER excited!! :D

There's only 19 more days until Shadow Future releases...I'm freaking out....I'm hoping that everything will be done on time. I'll probably spend Spring Break editing....not fun, but...lol

Well, I'll talk to you guys later!!

Review: ALLEGIANCE by Cayla Kluver

This is the 11th book I've read this year. (my fave number!!)

Summary from: goodreads.com

Only I saw Narian for who he truly was: a young man with courage and an independent mind, and made to pay for what was outside his control. He couldn't help his past any more than he could help the way those intense, deep-blue eyes pierced me and held me captive.

An eighteen-year-old queen in love with the enemy as their countries pass the point of no return...

Bound to a man she cannot love, Queen Alera of Hytanica must forget Narian, the young man who holds her heart. For Narian is destined to conquer Hytanica at the behest of his master, the powerful magic-user known as the Overlord. Alera doesn't truly believe Narian will fight against Hytanica-until Cokyrian troops attack with Narian commanding the charge.

Faced with the greatest betrayal a heart can know, Alera must set aside personal feelings and lead her kingdom through its darkest time. And when all hope, will and courage seem lost, she must find strength and remember that even the blackest night must have a dawn....

Christian beliefs: They mention the Lord, and they pray often.

Other Belief systems: Magic, sorcery, legends etc...

Language: b---ard, w--re, hell is used when someone is angry. And d--n.

Romance: Alera's husband tells her constantly that she needs to bear an heir to the throne, and he kisses her, and touches her. (not in bad places, but they're married, so he's allowed in the first place.) Alrea is in love with someone else, so she mentions him often. And her sister and another young man are in love.

Violence: The Overlord kills people, (I cried...) and people get wounded, with arrows, swords, etc...the book doesn't descripe it too hard, but you know when someone is not feeling well. People throw up.

Any other bad things: Steldor is known for his temper, and it shows throughout the book. Just a little warning there.

Comments: I was SO happy that this book came in as fast as I did! I started reading it right away. I love the love stories, and I was curious about how Cayla would handle the fact that Alera was married, but was in love with someone else. (and she did a awesome job.) But it's also a sad book, so if you don't like to cry, you probably shouldn't read this book. I cried, I was SO sad! But, it got better, than went downhill again, then went back up again. It was an emotional roller coaster! But I enjoyed it, believe it or not. ;) I'm very excited for SACRIFICE. I'm ready to read about Alera and her special man. ;)

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars.

Review: BOURNE by Lisa T. Bergen

This is the 10th book I've read this year.

Summary from: goodreads.com

BOURNE, a novella (1/3 the length of a normal novel), picks up right where TORRENT left off...Find out what has happened to men returning from the battle, gravely wounded, to the Betarrinis, fighting for the men they love, and just who is hunting them next...

Christian beliefs: Gabi and Lia have come to know God a little better than the last books. They pray to the LORD. And it makes me happy. :)

Other Belief systems: none.

Language: None.

Romance: SPOILER: Marcello and Gabi are married, so they like to kiss each other, and when Marcello is hurt, Gabi climbs on top of him without her dress on. (which is perfectly fine, they're married.) and....hmm...should I say the next part? Nah, I'll let you find out about Luca and one special lady. ;) Also, there are bad men, and they don't respect Lia as they should. Like they treated Gabi in the previous books. Which counts as 'romance'.

Any other bad things: It's a on-going war. People get captured, and tortured. People die, but it's not stomach churning. Lisa does every well with all of it. But blood is mentioned often. And killers are tracking done the men in the Brother Hood, and killing them off...:/

Comments: I was SUPER happy when BOURNE was released, and I finally got it on my NOOK! I started RIGHT away. I was excited to read about Marcello and Gabi, and Luca and Lia. And Lord Greco. (And since so far, Lord Greco doesn't have anyone, maybe I'll have him. ;) hehe. ) I love how God is in there, makes the book really fun to read, and I'm learning right along with the Gabi and Lia. :)
The ending got me, I was like...it's over? Oh I hope there's another book!!
I wish I could live there! It was be awesome....

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars. :D

Review: LEGACY by Cayla Kluver

This is the 9th book I've read this year.

I noticed his eyes. They were blue, sharp and intense. Despite the youthful glows of his suntanned face, his eyes were cold and unfriendly, suggesting he had great experience in the world and was now expecting the worst.
In her seventeenth year, Princess Alera of Hytanica faces one duty: to marry the man who will be king. But her father's choice of suitor fills her with despair.
When the palace guard captures and intruder—a boy her age with steel-blue eyes, hailing from her kingdom's greatest enemy—Alera is alarmed…and intrigued. But she could not have guessed that their clandestine meetings would unveil the dark legacy shadowing both their lands.
In this mystical world of court conspiracies and blood magic, loyalties will be tested. Courage won't be enough. And as the battle begins for everything Alera holds dear, love may be the downfall of a kingdom.

Christian beliefs:  They have a church, and they pray. Not sure if they're Christian, but they do have respect for the LORD.
Other Belief systems: Superstitious, prophesies, etc...
Language: They use the LORD's name ONCE. And someone does say: "d--n it."
Romance: Kissing, secret meeting places. Someone gets married and they're duty is to bear a child, you know that whole thing.  But the romance was very good, no one slept with each other until marriage, and I loved how the main character didn't feel comfortable being alone with a man without a chaperon. \
Any other bad things: It's a kingdom from a long time ago, there's wars, blood, swords, fighting etc...but nothing is described too hard.
Comments: First off, someone didn't take enough time to edit this wonderful book, it would have been even more amazing if the editor had taken time to EDIT IT. At first I was cringing about how much this book needed to be edited, but it wore off. I didn't like how there was SO MUCH description. I thought my head was going to explode, someone doesn't really need ALL that to know what the scene looks like, and I have a very vivid imagination, so my brain went kind of overload. It was a great plot, I love those 'duty back in the old days' books. And fantasy kind of things, always thinking about the enemy you haven't seen in awhile. It sort of reminded me of my book, and I can't wait to read the sequel to see how Cayla portrays the fact that SPOILER Alera is in love with someone else, but is married to another.
Rating: five out of five stars.

Monday Post

Well...it's Monday. Again. I have become one of those people who don't like Monday's. I'm really ready for summer. But...only 13 more weeks of school! WAHOO!

Anyway, that stupid Writing Block Hole is gone. I have had a breakthrough!! HALLELUJAH! Shadow Future #2 is on it's way!! But man, I forgot how much first drafts stink. :P lol

I haven't done a teaser in awhile have I? I was really busy and forgot, well. Tomorrow there WILL be a teaser Tuesday. And I will be working on the Playlist for Shadow Future. (fyi, most songs have nothing to do with the book, they just helped me write XD)

Also...a book trailer may be coming also.

Hope everyone has a great week!!

Friday...wait...I mean, Thursday....ready for the weekend....

Well...I have some GOOD news, and some BAD news. Which do you want first?? How about we get the bad news over with first...

Bad news: My  new fish. Algus Mangues died on Monday. :( And we think that my other fish Jack is a Mafia, and kills off other fish, because he's lived the longest. lol
More bad news: I have SERIOUS writers block. I KNOW what I want to write, but....I can't fill in the blanks between the big events...aren't those the worse?
MORE bad news: Yesterday was leap day correct? Well...I was sick all day yesterday. I always feel the worse on holidays. No idea why. lol XD but I'm doing better today.

Good news: I'm reading an AWESOME book. It's called: Entwined, and it's by Heather Dixon. I'm enjoying it SO much!!
More good news: It's library today tomorrow, PLUS one more day of school (WEEKEND). I'm SO ready for the summer....

They're seems to be a lot of bad news, doesn't there? Well...you have to get through the hard stuff to get to the good stuff, right?

In other news, I'm OBSESSED with k-pop's Miss A. You should look them up, they're AMAZING. Even if you can't speak Korean, they're still awesome.....

Also, it's another k-pop's 6th anniversary today (The Brown Eyed Girls, they're awesome too, btw.), and some fan made this video for them. I thought it was the cutest/funniest thing EVER. Watch:

Well...there's your laugh for the day....:)
