Review: VANISH by Sophie Jordan

WARNING: This book is the SECOND in the Firelight series, so there are SERIOUS spoilers. I have tried to warn you when they come up, but you should probably read the first book first: FIRELIGHT, by Sophie Jordan, if you don't like spoilers.

Summary from: www.goodreads.com

To save the life of the boy she loves, Jacinda did the unthinkable: She betrayed the most closely-guarded secret of her kind. Now she must return to the protection of her pride knowing she might never see Will again—and worse, that because his mind has been shaded, Will’s memories of that fateful night and why she had to flee are gone.

Back home, Jacinda is greeted with hostility and must work to prove her loyalty for both her sake and her family’s. Among the few who will even talk to her are Cassian, the pride’s heir apparent who has always wanted her, and her sister, Tamra, who has been forever changed by a twist of fate. Jacinda knows that she should forget Will and move on—that if he managed to remember and keep his promise to find her, it would only endanger them both. Yet she clings to the hope that someday they will be together again. When the chance arrives to follow her heart, will she risk everything for love?

In bestselling author Sophie Jordan’s dramatic follow-up to Firelight, forbidden love burns brighter than ever.

Christian beilifs: ...

Other beliefs sysetms: dragons, and all there beliefs and such.

Violence:  SPOILER: Cassian and Will and Corbin fight, and he describes what happens. No blood.
SPOILER:  Jacinda and Miram get captured by hunters, and Sophie describes what Jacinda is feeling and that there bleeding, becuase they've been shot. And that she just wants to fall asleep. Nothing too extreme. And Jacinda shoots fire more than once, just saying it burns someone.

Languge:  Well, here we go... I'm not sure, but I think I read a d--n and they use h--l more than once, and Will uses the LORD's name in vain. (made me flinch, not something I like to read, EVER.)

Romance: Oh! My favorite part of the books I read. (besides the action) SPOILER, SERIOUS SPOILER, WARNING YOU, ALRIGHT, HERE WE GO, Jacinda and Cassin kiss. And somehow, people like to bite down on people's lips. Never got that, well, I've never kissed anyone, and won't be doing anything for awhile, but it still is weird. And tongues are in weird places, seriously don't understand it. Anyway, Will and Jacinda kiss, and Az kisses one of the guards to let, SPOILER, Tamra and Jacinda can get away. (the solider is older than Az, but Sophie doesn't describe anything else.)

Any other bad things: Just that, the draki have a ceremony that is like marrying, and not telling you who it is that gets it, because I don't want to ruin the ENTIRE book for you, but they just talk like their animals, like breeding and such, and how the pride, (group of draki) have to keep growing. But there's NONE of them doing it. I SWEAR there is not, if there was, I would have skipped it. Oh! And two people are in bed together, wearing clothes mind you, but I skipped through most of it, because I just don't like to read that kind of stuff. Bothers me.

Comments: That I just LOVED it. And I CANNOT wait for the third book!!! I just think Sophie did an AWESOME job, and that I'm sad I finished it already. It was awesome! I keep re-reading my favorite parts. (you know it's good, when I do that.) And that I love reading her books, because, there's not a lot of describing, which some is good, but I'm more of a dialect reader and writer. (if you've read my books, you already know this) And I think too much description will not allow you to use your imagination as much. I'm sure everyone has there own idea at what my characters look like, and it's probably different than mine. But I think it's good not to half a lot, just the basics.
Ok, you can stop listening to me ramble now...

Rating: 2 out of 5 for any age. And 5 out of 5 for AH-MAZINGNESS
Oh, and this book would probably be good for thirteen and up, depending on parents allowing. If that makes sense...hope it does. Your parents are there for you. :)
